I have always been involved in writing from early grade school through college. I produced poems, short stories, and plays; most of them, thankfully, have long since disappeared. As English teacher and school administrator, I honed some skills and neglected others. Now retired, I have more time to turn on the creative juices again and, believe me, it's a lot of fun.

I'm currently working on a major project on Stanly County Writers, collecting biographical and bibliographical information about writers who are natives or who have close connections to the county. This will be incorporated into a book, hopefully to be published in mid-2003. I am also trying to complete a series of short stories based on some of life's
little pleasantries.

Being a member of the Union County Writers Club gives me information and inspiration to continue working on these projects. Other members are supportive and full of helpful ideas.
